For the 20th anniversary after the fall of the Berlin Wall, The Guardian has gathered a number of online projects reflecting its history and present.

openDemocracy is a one stop site for news with a Human Rights and pro-Democracy slant. The site is owned by the openDemocracy Foundation for the Advancement of Global Education which promotes education and the understanding of democracy.

The site is divided into 6 main categories: 50.50, openEconomy, openIndia, Our Kingdom, Russia, and Terrorism and Security. As you see, it’s not quite the entire world, but from the region they do cover, they include articles on a variety of topics. The 50.50 section gathers articles, podcasts, and blogs on gender equality.

The site is meant to be a collaboration from people from all walks of life, and they encourage everyone who wants to write to them to participate.

openDemocracy es un sitio web que reúne noticias internacionales, haciendo énfasis en los derechos humanos y la democracia. El sitio es propiedad de la Foundation for the Advancement of Global Education, que promueve la educación y la comprensión de la democracia.
