Yesterday was the official launch of “StoryCorps Historias“, the Latino version of StoryCorps, the project that gathers personal stories in audio format. Since 2003 the independent and nonprofit project has gathered thousands of interviews, often in conversation format between two people. These interviews are then available though public radio stations and online. These oral histories are then archived at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. The Historias project is expected to deliver the larges collection of Latino stories ever gathered.
Take a moment and browse through their collection, you’ll likely find a story that catches your attention. So far I’ve seen stories on immigration, war, home foreclosures, bus riders, politicians, and many other interesting topics.

Ayer fue el lanzamiento oficial de “StoryCorps Historias“, la versión Latina de StoryCorps, el proyecto que recoge las historias personales en formato de audio. Desde el 2003 el proyecto independiente y sin animo de lucro reune a miles de entrevistas, usualmente grabado con conversación entre dos personas. Estas entrevistas luego son disponibles a través de emisoras públicas de radio y en línea. Estos relatos luego con archivado en el American Folklife Center de la Biblioteca del Congreso de EEUU.
