While at ALA I met a couple of very cool librarians, one of which has a blog I have been following for some time now. Here’s a brief description of these great woman and their projects.
Hannah Winkler is the woman behind the Global Librarianship blog. I’ve had this blog on my RSS feed for some time now, and I’m constantly reading interesting news about the library field the world over. She believes that “that librarians have a social responsibility to address the literacy conditions around the world and to try to equalize access to electronic information.” You can also follow her on Twitter @Globallib.
Sara Wingate Gray is the brains and muscles behind The Itinerant Poetry Librarian project. This amazing woman has spent the last several years roaming much of Europe and North American offering library services through a mobile library that goes wherever she goes.
